After trading of its shares was suspended on Friday 24 July 2009 Alizyme plc has been placed in administration. Ian Carr and Nigel Morrison, partners at Grant Thornton UK LLP, have been appointed as joint administrators.

Ian Carr explained: “I understand this is an extremely worrying time for shareholders; with trading in the shares suspended.

“As administrator my main duty is to realise the value of the company's business and / or assets for the benefit of its creditors, such as its intellectual property.

“In this context I am not at this time able to provide an insight into the likelihood of shareholders realising value for their shares. I and my team will, however, endeavour to provide updated information via the company's website, as and when it is available.”
